How to Participate
Click on the Apply Now button to register as a participant. Once registered, you will receive a unique ID via the email you provided.
Visit https://scratch.mit.edu/, log in, and create a project based on the given theme. When your project is complete, save it by clicking File > Save to your computer from the project page. Ensure the file extension is .sb3.
Click on the Submit Work button to upload your saved .sb3 project file along with a written report. Don’t forget to include your unique ID in the submission form.
Competition Theme and Evaluation Criteria
Theme:🤖 Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Your challenge is to create a Scratch project related to AI. It could be a game that teaches others about AI, a story that shows AI in action, or even a music project inspired by AI! 💡
Evaluation Criteria:
Completeness (30%): Is your project polished and finished?
Creativity (20%): How unique and innovative is your idea?
Report (20%): Does your report explain your project clearly and thoughtfully?
Code Efficiency (10%): Is your code clean and well-organized?
Code Reusability (10%): Can others easily build on your work?
UI/UX (10%): Is it user-friendly and visually appealing?
The judges will review both your Scratch project file and a written report. Show us your best work! 🌟
Important Rules and Guidelines
Original Work: Your project must be your own creation. If you remix someone else’s project, provide a link to the original and clearly explain in your report what you improved or changed.
Final Submission: Only your last submission before the deadline will be evaluated. Make sure it includes your final project and report.
Evaluation Period: It may take around 3 weeks for the judges to review all submissions, but this may extend depending on the number of participants.

Age Restriction: Participants must be within the age range specified in the competition guidelines. Proof of age may be required.
Individual Participation Only: This is a solo competition. Each participant must work independently on their project.
Project File Format: Submissions must be in the Scratch (.sb3) file format. Ensure your file is properly named and uploaded correctly.
Plagiarism Policy: Any form of plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification. Always give credit where it’s due.
Proof of New Zealand Residency: Participants must provide proof that they are students residing in New Zealand. This can include a student ID or other official documentation.
Fair Play Policy: If any form of unfair practice or copying of another project is discovered after submission, any awards or recognitions will be revoked.
